ผ่านไปแล้วสำหรับงาน Neighbor program presented The Exhibition “we are what we eat” เมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ 7 กรกฎาคมที่ผ่านมา ณ TCDC, The Emporium กับการ workshop ที่ร่วมมือกันระหว่าง เหล่า Young Designer จากประเทศเพื่อนบ้านทั้ง ประเทศไทย สิงคโปร์ มาเลเซีย และอินโดนิเซีย 

โดยที่งานนี้เริ่มต้นการ workshop กันตั้งแต่ปี 2011 ณ ประเทศสิงคโปร์ พร้อมกับเหล่า Young Designerถึง 16 คนจาก 4 สถาบันการศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัย ประกอบไปด้วย Lasalle College of Arts, Singapore / Dasein Academy of Art, Malaysia / School of Architecture and Design, KMUTT, Thailand / Binus University, Indonesia กับการทำงานในหัวข้อ “we are what we eat” ด้วยเหตุผลที่ว่าภูมิภาคของทางฝั่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ของเรา ในเรื่องของอาหารนั้นเรามีเอกลักษณ์เป็นของตัวเองทั้งหีบห่อ รสชาติอาหาร หรือแม้แต่วิธีการกิน ทำให้เป็นไอเดียในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานออกมาให้เราได้ชมกัน 

            The Neighbor program presented The Exhibition “we are what we eat” just passed by on last Friday 7th July at TCDC, The Emporium with the cooperate workshop of the young designer from our neighbor countries, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia

The workshop has been initiated since 2011 in Singapore by 16 young designers from 4 Institutes (Lasalle College of Arts, Singapore / Dasein Academy of Art, Malaysia / School of Architecture and Design, KMUTT, Thailand / Binus University, Indonesia) with the topic of “we are what we eat”, which because the Southeast Asia has unique identity of food in all aspects including packaging, favors, or cooking process. These elements extinguish  ideas to create works.    

จากปี 2011 มาถึงปีนี้ 2012 พวกเขาร่วมกันสร้างสรรค์ผลงานกันอย่างไร ในเมื่อต่างคนอยู่คนละประเทศ นี่คืออีกหนึ่งจุดประสงค์ของโครงการนี้ ที่อยากให้ทุกคนได้มีการติดต่อสื่อสาร พร้อมแชร์ประสบการณ์ซึ่งกันและกัน เพราะแต่ละประเทศนั้นอยู่ติดกัน เป็นเพื่อนบ้าน ทำไมเราถึงไม่รู้จักกัน และสิ่งที่น่าสนใจของการ workshop ในครั้งนี้คือการที่เหล่า young designer ไม่มีโอกาสได้ทำงานร่วมกัน แต่พวกเขาต้องสื่อสารกันผ่านโลกอินเตอร์เน็ตทั้ง Facebook, Skype โดยพวกเขาต้องมาร่วมมือกันสร้างสรรค์ผลงานจาก process ที่พวกเขาทำมาตลอดตั้งแต่ปีที่แล้ว และมาจบลง ณ ประเทศไทยในปีนี้

One of the objectives of this project is to communicate and sharing experience of people in different countries. It was interesting to see this young designer working together, making use of social network communication such as Facebook, Skype. They have to develop artworks together since 2011 at Singapore and finished the final process in Thailand. 

บรรยากาศภายในงานเป็นไปอย่างอบอุ่น และได้รับความสนใจจากคนในวงการสร้างสรรค์ทั้งไทยและเทศ ที่เดินทางมาร่วมงานกันมากมาย หลังจากที่เราได้พูดคุยกับเหล่า Young designer ผู้สร้างสรรค์ผลงานในโครงการนี้ ทุกคนตอบเป็นเสียงเดียวกันว่า “โครงการนี้เป็นประสบการณ์ที่ดี ได้ทำความรู้จักเพื่อนใหม่ๆ ได้เห็นวิธีการทำงานและวิธีการคิดของแต่ละประเทศ และเรียนรุ้ แลกเปลี่ยนวัฒนธรรมซึ่งกันและกันอีกด้วย” ถึงตอนนี้ พวกเขาก็มีเพื่อนเพิ่มขึ้นถึง 16 คน 4 ชาติจาก 4 ประเทศแล้ว

The Exhibition was warmly received, many of the people in the industry either Thais or foreigners traveled a long way just to participate in the event. The most of participant from this project, in particular Teacher and Student are commented “This project provided a good experience. They got to meet a new friends, see the way of thinking of people in other countries and cultures” and now they got 16 more friends from 4 new countries.

อีกหนึ่งไฮไลท์ปิดท้ายงานนี้ designer talk ของเหล่าดีไซน์เนอร์ชื่อดังของเอเชียนามว่า 108 team ที่มาพูดคุยอย่างเป็นกันเองพร้อมกับเล่าประสบการณ์ และแสดงผลงานที่ผ่านมาของพวกเขา เริ่มต้นที่หัวหอกของโครงการนี้ Joseph Foo ผู้ก่อตั้งบริษัทดีไซน์นามว่า 3nity ของมาเลเซีย มาพร้อมกับโปรเจคต่างๆ ที่น่าสนใจของเขา เช่น Hope Project, Man & god  ต่อด้วย Jackson Tan ดีไซน์เนอร์ชื่อดังจากสิงคโปร์หนึ่งในผู้ก่อตั้ง Phunk studio มาพร้อมกับผลงานกราฟฟิกคอนเซ็ปมันส์ๆ ที่ได้ปรากฎมาแล้วในหลายๆที่ทั่วโลก, ต่อมาที่เจ้าพ่อบริษัทเกมส์ออนไลน์ Gamania ยักษ์ใหญ่ในเอเชีย Eric Chen ชาวไต้หวันกับผลงานและบรรยากาศออฟฟิศสุดเจ๋ง ของเขาที่ได้แรงบันดาลใจมาจากหนังต่างๆ อย่างเรื่อง star trek และปิดท้ายความสนุกที่ Chris Lee ดีไซน์เนอร์ชื่อดังชาวสิงคโปร์ ผู้ก่อตั้ง Asylum Creative Agency ชื่อดังที่มากับผลงานต่างๆที่เขาได้ทำมาไม่ว่าจะเป็น การแปลงโฉมตึกร้างให้กลายเป็นออฟฟิศสุดเก๋ หรือผลงานการออกแบบ Johnnie Walker house ในเซี่ยงไฮ้  

A final hilight of this event “Designers talk”, where famous designers of asia ‘108 team’ come to share their inside. Start with Joseph Foo the founder of 3nity, Malaysia. With his interesting project ‘Hope Project, Man & god. Jackson Tan, famous designer of Singapore the founder of Phunk studio. With his graphic concept that was shown all over the world. Eric Chen Branding Director of Gamania, Large online game company. With his cool office design that was inspired by Star trek. And finally Chris Lee, the well known designer from Singapore and the founder of Asylum Creative Agency and many of his works including how he can transform abandon building into a hip office or his Johnnie Walker house in Shanghai. 

การรวมตัวของเหล่าดีไซน์เนอร์ในครั้งนี้เป็นการรวมตัวเพื่อแสดงถึงศักยภาพของเราชาวเอเชียให้ทั่วโลกได้รับรู้ และในอนาคต Neighbor program อาจจะกลายเป็นศุนย์กลางงานดีไซน์ของเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ก็เป็นได้ การเคลื่อนไหวในครั้งนี้ อาจจะเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของสิ่งที่ยิ่งใหญ่ในอนาคตได้อย่างแน่นอน Neighbor program จะออกเดินทางอีกครั้งที่ไหน เมื่อไหร่ต้องติดตามต่อไป ©

All the designers came together for this event to show the potential of the Southeast Asian to the world. And in the future, Neighbor program could be a Hub of design in South East Asia. The start of the greatest future of Neighbor program, which we will have to follow when and where this journey will go to. ©
