We’ re adopting the Zim & Zou crew’ s ‘Back to Basics’ credo. Zim & Zou are Lucie Thomas and Thibault Zimmerman, a team of young artists from Nancy, France who are giving their own flavour to iconic objects from the 80s. Cutting, folding, and trimming, the two recreate the Polaroids and old phones that suffuse our dreams. As ‘complementary and versatile’ partners, they play with measured design and a rainbow palette to create paper sculptures, dizzying installations and fantastic illustrations. Their craftsmanship highlights their unparallelled precision and dynamism. Like a trip through time in a Delorean, Lucie and Thibault bring us back to our childhood basics.
